Located on the site of the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station, Southfield encompasses over 1,000 acres of prime south shore real estate. This mixed-use project will include retail, office, residential and leisure amenities.

SMOOK Architecture designed the first structure built on the site. The 5,000 square foot multi-use building includes meeting rooms, leasing offices and sales offices - it has become a showcase for future development.

The design concept for the building grew out of the development’s tagline: “Southfield: Classic New England with a Twist.” The structure references rural barn architecture, however, details like the glass-enclosed entry, the metal canopy and the contemporary interiors belie the building as purely an “artifact.”
